8th Science Classroom Activity

Learning science can be both creative and engaging when art is combined with concepts. Rangoli Representation of Science Diagrams by 8th Grade students is a unique activity where important science diagrams are recreated using colorful rangoli designs. This innovative approach helps students visualize scientific concepts in a more interesting and memorable way.

The rangoli diagrams included concepts such as Electrolysis of Water, showing the separation of hydrogen and oxygen using electricity, and Electroplating, demonstrating the process of coating one metal with another using an electric current. Students also creatively illustrated microorganisms like Viruses, Algae, Protozoa, and Fungi, helping them understand their structures and characteristics.

Biological processes were represented through rangoli designs such as Budding in Hydra and Binary Fission in Amoeba, which explain different methods of asexual reproduction. These diagrams helped students visualize how living organisms reproduce and grow.

Concepts related to light and vision were also included, such as Reflection of Light, Image Formation in a Plane Mirror, Human Eye, and Human Ear. These rangoli diagrams clearly showed how light reflects from surfaces and how human sensory organs help us see and hear.

This activity encouraged students to learn science in an innovative way while developing creativity, teamwork, and presentation skills. By turning scientific diagrams into rangoli art, students were able to better understand and remember complex concepts while making the learning environment colorful and enjoyable

Menstrual Hygiene and Health Management

The onset of menstruation means a new phase – and new vulnerabilities – in the lives of adolescents. Yet, many adolescent girls face stigma, harassment and social exclusion during menstruation. Menstrual health and hygiene interventions can help overcome these obstacles. Not only do they fulfil the unmet demand for menstrual hygiene products; they also protect dignity, build confidence, and strengthen sexual and reproductive health, particularly among adolescents. So we along with SAAHAS, a Non-Government Organization conducted a workshop at Sujana Vidhya Mandira campus about the importance of “Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management” for the 8 ^th ,9 ^th and 10 ^th classes’ girls on 21/02/2025. Sessions were taken by Dr.Shanthi, Gynaecologist., by discussing , interacting about different kinds of issues related to the personal health and hygiene and how to contribute themselves to save environment. Even reusable cloth sanitary napkins’ kit and fruits were distributed to all the girls.

The vibrant and joyful celebration of Janmashtami honours the birth of Lord Krishna, Vishnu's eighth avatar. Krishna Janmashtami will be observed on Monday, August 26, 2024. This auspicious day marks the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of the Hindu month of Shravana.

This auspicious day was celebrated at Sujana Vidhya Mandira with great enthusiasm and devotion. Many students from primary classes’ were dressed by like Little Krishna and Radha. Also shlokas, devotional songs were sung by the students.

Significance:

National Science Day celebrated annually on February 28 every year commemorates the anniversary of Sir C.V. Raman’s ground-breaking discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ in 1928.This discovery earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, making him the first Indian to win a Nobel in the sciences. National Science Day was first celebrated in 1987, and since then, it has become a key event that fosters the spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation in

India.

The primary goals of National Science Day are to raise awareness about the importance of science in daily life, showcase achievements in the field, and encourage the development of new technologies. It also aims to popularise science among the public and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in scientific research and innovation.

National Science Day is celebrated under the event “ AVISHKARA ” at Sujana Vidhya Mandira school on 28/02/24. On this day students of 1 st class to 10 th class had prepared projects based on the concepts related to Environment, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The event was graced by President Smt T V Padmavathy, Secretary R Suresh, Joint Secretary Smt S Sahitya Priya, Parents and well-wishers.

In today’s era no one can remain untouched by the world of Computers. So we, at Sujana Vidhya Mandira, have provided the best of Infra-structure and facilities in terms of imparting the best education of computers to our students.

Sujana Vidhya Mandira has recently inaugurated its new well equipped Computer Lab on 5th July 2023 by Our beloved principal and president madam

This lab is used by students’ up to X Standard. It has air-conditioned, well illuminated and colourful furniture keeping in mind the young kids. There are computers for young kids to have hands on practice on them.

It is well equipped modern Lab with latest innovation and technology being used in imparting computer education to the students. The lab running on latest windows 11. 20 individual workstations for students. All computers are upgraded with latest versions of Software.

The Lab has a projector. With the help of projector, the demonstration to a full strength of 60 – 70 students in big seminar hall.
